Understanding XAT Scoring
Score Calculation Details
The XAT exam uses a complex normalization process to calculate scaled scores. Here's what you should know:
- Normalization: Raw scores are converted to scaled scores to account for different difficulty levels across multiple test forms
- Section Weightage: The three main sections (QA, VALR, DM) are weighted differently in the final score
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for wrong answers (no negative marking for GK and Essay)
- GK & Essay: These sections are reported separately and not included in the overall percentile calculation
- Percentile: Your percentile indicates what percentage of test-takers scored below you
This calculator simplifies the normalization process to give you a close estimate of your expected performance.
